PLATIPUS ENGINEERING SYSTEMS


Platipus Anchors have extensive, world-wide experience in the design and manufacture of earth anchoring systems for a wide range of engineering applications such as erosion control, slope/embankment stabilization, retaining walls, shoring and underpinning, to mention but a few.

The latest range of Platipus earth anchoring systems is the result of years of experience and Research and Development into the behavioural characteristics of mechanical earth anchors in varying soil conditions. This has resulted in a range of products that outperforms comparable capacity conventional systems and all previous Platipus, and similar, products.

INSTALLATION FOR ENGINEERING PROJECTS

The anchor system can be installed using a variety of light, medium or heavy installation equipment. As the requirement for anchor size and placement depth increases it is essential to utilize larger installation equipment.

There are three main stages of installation that are common to all types of anchor system:

Stage 1 Driving The Anchor
Drive the anchor into the ground to the required installation depth.

Stage 2 Removing The Rods
Remove the drive rod from the body of the anchor in the ground, either by hand or using rod-removing equipment.

Stage 3 Loadlocking
Loadlock the anchor into its full working position and proof load, by applying a load to the tendon.

Experience over the last decade, means AMT can recommend and/or provide suitable systems in viable combinations for all users’ requirements. The equipment we support is lightweight and flexible with a degree of power that overshadows many alternative compressed air systems.

A wide range of suitable plant is available from most plant hire companies and we can provide advice on appropriate equipment and specifications, should you require it.














Loadlocking / Stressing equipment



An important advantage of our anchoring systems is the ease with which they can be made ready for use. Load locking/stressing equipment is an important factor in this process. Platipus design and manufacture a range of equipment to suit all applications in either manual or powered formats. Hydraulic power is incorporated into many of these systems.

Tools



We produce a complete range of tools to assist with anchor installation on civil engineering projects. In some cases, we have developed special equipment to speed up or simplify a particular process. Our representatives can advise you on tool requirements for your application.
